French visual artist and jewelry-maker living in Paris. She graduated from the École Camondo and began her study of the art of Florence with unusual open-mindedness. Afterward, she took up photography in New York, encountering such artists as Robert Ryman, Richard Serra and Cy Twombly. Upon returning to Europe, she wrote several books with Ricardo Bofill and directed the Taller Design research team through which she supervised the choice and development of materials. During these ten years of training followed by intense creativity at Taller de Arquitectura, she prepared for a return to Paris. Her work is extremely personal, surprising and intriguing, with, especially, an extravagance that has caused some degree of envy. In 1990, at the Pierre Passebon gallery, she exhibited Atlantide, a series of colossal gouaches on the theme of time and memory. All of these gouaches later became carpets produced by the Société des Amis of the National Museum of Modern Art. The following year, this same group produced her work Talisman, a sterling-silver-and-ebony necklace depicting the phases of the moon, shown in December 1993 at New York’s Guggenheim Museum. In 1994, she created a series of nine bronze pieces for Joseph, on avenue Montaigne. In 1995, she exhibited Songes d’or ou l’Origine rêvée, a 4-x-8-m installation at the Centre d’Art Contemporain in Vassivière (Limousin). In 1996, she began a collaboration with the Manufacture de Sèvres; an exhibition of her sculpture, entitled Odyssée was presented at the Montenay-Giroux gallery that same year. Goldsmithing and silversmithing hold a very special place in her work. A collection of one-of-a-kind pieces for Daum as well as another for the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris is part of the work she has created for private clientele. Characterized by classical beauty, her creations are admired as much for their harmony of line, their elegant details, their sensuality and the inventiveness of their use of stones and other materials as they are for their emotional characteristics.
